2020 has been a truly difficult year for anyone wanting to celebrate any occasion where people come together. The hospitality industry as a whole has had to adapt, readapt and cancel events throughout the year, none more so than very special weddings that brides, grooms and their families and friends had been so looking forward to.
It has been particularly hard for wedding suppliers. Brides aren’t getting their hair and make-up done, no one needs a photographer for the special day that didn’t happen, no one is trying on wedding dresses and there are no big celebrations being held at venues like Suffolk Barn.
After a very quiet year, we jumped at the opportunity to be involved in a styled venue shoot with some local suppliers. The team had thought about everything to the last detail and the barn was the perfect location. Tina, from Ambience Venue Styling UK, arrived the day before to prepare and to save herself some time for finer details and last-minute touches on the final shoot day. She created a beautiful Autumn event set without over complicating the rustic nature of the barn. This styling coupled with a wonderful array of autumnal flower designs (provided by Thrive Floristry), was the perfect setting for the rest of our suppliers to showcase their talents.
After a long day with rain pouring outside, and with the team being sure to follow COVID-19 guidelines, wearing masks and socially distancing at all time, we achieved something quite beautiful. Emily Fae Jackman, the photographer, captured the essence of an Autumnal wedding bringing all the elements together to showcase our incredible “event”. She also made sure that that each supplier had plenty of photos to show off their own part of the day.
We do not have an approved suppliers list at Hawstead Place as we like to work with a wide range of suppliers to suit the occasion, but we can always make recommendations and would happily include any of these wonderful Suffolk contributors to anyone who would want to host an event with us. Each was dedicated to the end result and worked together to achieve some outstanding results.
