Sure, most weddings take on a fairly similar pattern of a church or civil ceremony, drinks, eats, speeches and dancing, but there’s so much more to it than that…
Whether you’re after a small, private, intimate gathering of friends and family or a large formal affair with international guests and entertainment to match, an outdoor festival/bbq vibe or a five course silver service with fizz and cocktails. Or a combination..!
We can provide the backdrop and advice and services as required to make your celebration all that you had hoped for and more…
We have created the ability to divide the space so you can host an intimate event in Suffolk Barn for a small number or the whole barn can be used for a larger gathering of guests.
Flexibility is the key in terms of the space we are lucky enough to have available and our attitude to the needs of the hosts and their guests. Either way it is available as a private space for your day utilising all we have to offer both inside the wonderful timber structure and outside in the historic parkland setting…

We understand that each event is unique and individual, we are dedicated to ensuring that this is true for all our hosts and guests, regardless of their planned celebration or event.

create your dream wedding
Suffolk Barn can be seen as a blank canvas which can be decorated and styled to suit your individual ideas and provide the perfect space.
Some couples know exactly what they are hoping to achieve but many others find they need a helping hand to find the inspiration they are looking for and that is where some guidance from our experienced team can help.
We can do as much or as little as suits your needs.
wedding reception
The barn has the perfect layout for your wedding reception with plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy drinks and canapes with your guests. The main area of the barn is fantastic for your wedding breakfast where you can enjoy your meal and be surrounded by friends and family. We are able to provide tables and chairs for 160 guests, but can bring more if you need! You can then move into the “lower barn” for your after party where we have built in party lights and a dancefloor for you to dance the night away on…
civil ceremonies
We have a marriage license and can host a ceremony either outside or within the Barn, either way the ceremony won’t interfere with the reception set up or any other aspects of your day.
Suffolk Barn provides a wonderful backdrop for a perfect Suffolk Civil Ceremony wedding.
your guests
Guests can enjoy plenty of outdoor space where seating and games can be enjoyed during Spring and Summer weddings (weather dependent).
As well as this, why not add an extra spin by organising an evening pizza or ice cream van for your guests to enjoy!
There is ample parking available.

Set in ancient parkland, Suffolk Barn is surrounded by incredible Suffolk views which are perfect for wedding photos, not only of the happy couple but also of guests, family, and friends enjoying themselves. As well as this, there are old farm buildings which provide a rustic countryside backdrop for further photo opportunities to help create some incredible memories!
accommodation
Looking for somewhere to stay … The Old Forge Cottage is the perfect 2/3 bedroom accommodation for the wedding party with a built in kitchen and barely a minute away from the Barn. As well as this, Bury St Edmunds is home to beautiful hotels and B&Bs which are located only a five minute drive from the Suffolk Barn.
