My husband and I chose Suffolk Barn to have our Autumn themed wedding back in October 2019 and honestly couldn’t have had a more beautiful venue.
It was nice and private, plenty of space to host all of our guests. The kitchen was very well equipped for our caterers with plenty of space. What was the main point for us was that it was rustic but could have some really nice lighting which Suffolk Barn offers built in lighting and a sound system! What made setting up our fairy lights easier was the cables that could be lowered from the beams on the ceiling, lights hooks onto and hoisted back up. It felt like with very little effort you can make the barn into whatever theme you want, which is good when planning something like a wedding! We got to set up the day before the day and our wedding party tidied up the day after.
The actual day was amazing even though it drizzled and was windy the whole time, the barn was nice and toasty. Because of the lighting already set up and the windows, our photographer managed to get some really lovely photos both inside and out as the grounds are huge and surrounded by fields and trees so no unwanted buildings in the background. It was great having the sound system for quiet music while eating and the evening was great with the dancefloor all lit up. What was great was that you could go from the dancefloor blasting loud music to the hall where you could chat without having to yell.
The only downside was the lighting in the metal cages on the floor as even though it was nice having the lights, due to their location we had a few guests trip over them and one of the caterers trip and hurt herself. Perhaps sinking them into the floor?
Other than that the communication between us and Rupert was excellent even asking about one of our groomsmen who had to be taken to hospital with an injured leg (from overzealous dancing) as well as finding and returning my Nana’s wedding ring which was lost on the day!
Would highly recommend Suffolk Barn as a wedding venue all year round!
